Smash It Rage Rooms FAQs

Before Your Visit

What is a rage room, and how does it work?

A rage room is an activity where you break approved items in a designated room using the tools and protective equipment provided. At Smash It Rage Rooms, staff confirm your booking and approved breakables, explain the equipment, then help you get ready to smash. Our team handles the cleanup. See how a Smash It visit works.

Smash It Rage Rooms provides gloves and a protective face shield, and staff must approve the items you break. Follow staff instructions, wear the required footwear, and use the protective equipment provided. Breaking objects still carries a risk of injury; protective gear does not eliminate that risk.

Rage Room participants must be at least 8 years old. Participants 13 and under must have a supervising adult physically present. Everyone under 18 needs a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Adults must also have a signed waiver on file. For younger guests joining other activities, check with your location about staff instructions and protective-equipment fit. Complete your waiver before your visit.

Closed-toe shoes are required. Wear clothing and shoes you are comfortable getting dirty or potentially damaging; we recommend long sleeves and pants. We provide gloves and a protective face shield. An optional clean-suit upgrade is available for $10. Even with the upgrade, clothing and shoes may get dirty, stained, or damaged. We cannot guarantee their protection.

Stop the activity and alert a staff member immediately if someone is hurt or an unsafe situation occurs. Follow staff instructions and the marked emergency exits if an evacuation is needed. Fire extinguishers and first-aid kits are available on site.

We understand all the stresses of pregnancy just make you want to smash! But, for the safety of you and your baby, we can not allow pregnant women to participate. However, you are welcome to participate in the Splatter it Paint Room!

Smash It Rage Rooms has three Utah locations: Salt Lake City at 1154 S 300 W; Ogden at 3109 Washington Blvd; and Orem at 170 S State St. Open your store page for hours, directions, and booking information.

In a Rage Room, you use tools to break approved items. In the Throw Zone, you throw glass in a designated space. Splatter It (paint splatter) is a creative activity where you throw and splash paint onto a canvas. Check your chosen location and booking options for available sessions, and review the age and clothing requirements before visiting.

Breakables & Donations

What do you do with the smashed things?

Everything that can be recycled, gets recycled. We believe in being environmentally responsible.

Absolutely! We love when you BYOB (Bring Your Own Breakables)! We charge $2.25 per pound for the things you bring. Everything you bring gets sent to the recycling facility to be processed. For your safety, all items brought to be smashed must be approved by staff.

Fire prevention: For fire prevention, all batteries must be removed before an item can be smashed. Staff must inspect and approve all devices. Please do not attempt to remove damaged, swollen, or built-in batteries yourself.

Battery fees: Battery removal and disposal costs $5 per device, or $5 per visit for loose-battery disposal. AA and AAA battery disposal is free, but these batteries must still be removed before smashing. No battery fee applies if you remove the battery and take it with you. The usual bring-your-own-item charges still apply.

Items brought for smashing or donation require staff authorization. Contact us before bringing CRT TVs or computer monitors, light bulbs, batteries, large furniture, refrigerators, or appliances larger than a large microwave. Staff will confirm whether an item can be accepted and how it may be handled. Authorization to bring an item does not mean it is approved for smashing.

Yes, we accept approved donations. Contact staff for authorization before bringing items, then drop off accepted items during business hours. Please check with your location about any large, unusual, or potentially hazardous items before transporting them.
